St. Mary's Catholic Primary School

Ten:Ten RSHE teaching

Following the publication of the revised Relationship, Sex and Health Education (RSHE) guidance from the Northampton Diocese, St Mary's Catholic Primary School has completed the full consultation and implementation process outlined within the diocesan timeline.

During September and October 2026, we informed staff, governors, parents and carers of the proposed changes, provided opportunities for consultation and feedback, delivered staff training, reviewed curriculum resources and considered responses from all stakeholders. The feedback received from parents and carers was overwhelmingly positive and supportive of the proposed policy and curriculum updates.

Following a review of the consultation outcomes, governors approved the revised RSHE Policy, which has now been adopted by the school. The updated policy remains firmly rooted in our Catholic ethos and reflects both diocesan guidance and statutory requirements.

The final policy is now available on our website, alongside curriculum information for parents. We would like to thank everyone who took the time to participate in the consultation process and support the development of our RSHE provision.

The approved policy will guide the delivery of RSHE across the school and will continue to be monitored and reviewed to ensure that it effectively supports the wellbeing, personal development and safeguarding of all pupils.

The resources are accessible to parents using the Parent log in details found below:
