Please find attached our Allergy Policy, which has been introduced in line with Benedict’s Law and our school procedures. Our priority is to ensure that all pupils with allergies are supported safely and consistently, and that appropriate measures are in place to reduce risk throughout the school day.

Each child with a severe allergy will have an individual care plan and risk assessment in place. A blank example of the care plan has been attached for your reference. The completed care plan will be provided by the medical practitioner overseeing the child’s care, and for severe allergies we will ask parents and carers to sign the relevant documents. We will also ask for your consent where a child may consume foods that may contain allergens.

This also includes the ingredients list for each menu option, which we encourage you to review carefully if your child has any dietary requirements or allergies. Epipens are stored safely in school, and all staff have received training in the use of emergency medication and the procedures to follow in the event of an allergic reaction.

Please ensure that any relevant documentation is completed and returned promptly so that we can finalise the necessary arrangements for your child. If you have any questions or would like to discuss your child’s allergy care plan, please contact the school office.
